There are some very attractive villages situated within easy commuting distance of both the city centre and North West Bristol. The Avon Gorge effectively creates a natural boundary between city and country. Somerset is the other side of the Gorge from Clifton. The villages of Long Ashton, Leigh Woods, Abbots Leigh, Failand and Pill/Easton-in-Gordano all have their own charms and varying levels of amenities. All are surrounded by some fantastic countryside including the national Trust Owned Tyntesfield Estate.
The villages north of Bristol provide convenient access to the motorway networks and the cities northern business parks but are a bit further away from the city centre. The attractive villages sit on the banks on the River Severn or further up away from the river on the Cotswold edge. Almondsbury, Tockington, Olveston and surrounding hamlets are set in attractive countryside with the market town of Thornbury providing a more comprehensive range of amenities.
